Lutheran Ministries in Jamaica Mission and Support Staff

Rev. Obot

Rev. Obot and Abasifreke Ite
On May 7, 2007, Pastor Obot and Abasifreke Ite received a call as missionaries to Jamaica from the Lutheran Church of Nigeria (LCN), in partnership with the LCMS World Mission. They arrived in Jamaica in October, 2007. Pastor Obot Ite served as Chaplain and Geography Teacher at the Lutheran High School, Obot Idim Nigeria, since graduating from the Jonathan Ekong Memorial Lutheran Seminary, Nigeria in 2005. Prior to the Seminary, Obot earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. He was the National Coordinator of the Lutheran Student Fellowship of Nigeria (LUSFON) and the Ministerial Adviser of the LCN Youth Fellowship until his call to mission field.

Abasifreke and Obot were married in March 2006. She graduated from the University of Calabar with a B.Sc. degree in Environmental Protection and Resource Management. Both were born in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

They are excited to join brethren in Jamaica for the purpose of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and planting new churches. They have passion for sharing the love of Jesus with everyone.

Claudeous Dell

Claudious Dell
Mr. Dell is St. Andrew's first Deacon and was given and has accepted the position as evangelist to the people of Bath Mountain, Westmoreland. Mr. Dell is originally from the parish of Westmoreland on the far west side of the island of Jamaica. He moved to Kingston in his early teens but always returned to that part of the island when he could. Working out of the Bath Mountain Health Clinic/Community Center, Claudious holds weekly Sunday worship, Wednesday Bible Class and Friday Youth meeting. Besides his work as evangelist he will also help coordinate volunteer groups coming down to work at the health clinic.

Ancella Gregory

Ancella Gregory
Ancella has been employed by the mission since 1996 as office manager. She is a valuable asset to the work in Jamaica and helps keep the continuity of our work since she had the experience of working closely with three of the four missionary families that have been stationed in Jamaica.

She and her family are long time members of St. Andrew Lutheran congregation and were one of the first families to join the church back when Pastor Bauer was the resident missionary in 1995. She is also one of the first two women in the congregation to be commissioned as a deaconess.
