Christmas Recipes from Latvia

  • 6 yolks
  • 200g sugar
  • Vanilla
  • 200g cream
  • 200g chocolate, grated
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee
  • Pinch salt
  • 700g cognac

Cream together yolks, sugar and vanilla. Bring to the boil a cream; dissolve grated chocolate, instant coffee and salt into it. Take off from the stove, and let get cool a little. Mix still warm cream and creamed yolks. Chill, and then mix with a cognac. Keep in refrigerator.

Makes about 1 litre.

The liquor is so thick that can eat it with a spoon.
