Christmas Recipes from Panama

  • 1 ½ cups of rice
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1 ½ or 2 cups of evaporated milk
  • ½ package of raisins (250 g)
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 15 tablespoons of sugar

Put rice, water, cinnamon and salt in a covered pot to cook for approximately 20 minutes. When the rice is soft, add the sugar and milk. Next, let the mixture simmer over low heat for 30 minutes - be sure to check it so that it does not dry out.

Divide into bowls and sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
